Frequently Asked Questions

F.A.Q.

When should I reach out to schedule my first fitting?

4-5 months prior to the wedding date. See the Alterations page for more information on getting started.

How much do alterations typically cost?

With so many different styles, designs, and desires these days, price varies quite a bit. I cannot give an accurate estimate until the I see the gown in person.

Do you offer consultations?

Yes, but space is extremely limited. A private consultation is $75 for a 45 minute appointment.

Do you offer alterations other than wedding gowns?

Sorry ladies, wedding gowns only.

What if I lose or gain weight?

Over the years, this has turned out to be the biggest concern and most commonly asked question. I’ve spent many years working with brides perfecting this process, and while there is some wiggle room for sizing changes, the ultimate goal is to make your gown fit you, not the other way around!

I strongly recommend staying the same size once the alteration process has begun.

If the weight loss or gain is substantial – more than 1 size – additional cost will be applied. Keep things simple, and try not to make losing weight your goal during this time. Someone fell in love with you and wants to marry you just the way you are!

Do I need to clean my gown after alterations?

Cleaning should be done prior to starting the alteration process. And don’t worry, I make sure to keep the dress clean as a whistle while i’m working my magic!

Will you steam out my gown?

Yes! Although wrinkling may occur when the gown goes back in the bag and travels. Steamers are handy little tools, I recommend having one handy for any last minute wrinkles!

I want cups added to my gown. Do you have those?

You bet, in different shapes and colors too.

Can you update my mom's veil?

I sure can! You are going to make your mom happier than you even know, and you’ll have something special on top of it.

I live out of town but my wedding is in Atlanta. Where should I have my alterations done?

I recommend finding an alterations solution near where you live, unless there is no other option. I’ve been in the biz long enough to know that it can be mighty hard to make it to fittings, especially if they are out of town. Be green and easy on yourself if possible!
